Student Outcomes

HPU students benefit from an environment that actively engages them for career readiness. As the Premier Life Skills University®, our 98% placement rate for graduates is 16 points higher than the national average for college graduates. We are committed to ensuring students not only earn a diploma in a specific discipline but are also prepared to navigate an increasingly competitive career landscape without being intimidated by life’s obstacles. We are very proud of our students. Our graduating students are securing employment or they're going on to pursue graduate degrees.

When these students graduate, they are literally getting jobs everywhere in the country, you name it. Because they're able to do internships not only here in the triad while they're here during the academic year, but a lot of them don't live here in the summers. And so they go home and they are doing internships all over the country. And then those connections, that networking, and that experience is then enhancing their abilities to be able to get jobs in a variety of different locations all over the country.

I am a Language Strategy Intern here at Messalonskee and Partners. I'm a Digital Media Intern for Animal Planet. My name is Amy Sam, I'm a Public Affairs Specialist at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. The law firm that I work for is Funk & Bolton, P.A. I'm interning at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC. Capitol Hill. The Association of American Medical Colleges. The Nielsen Company. 17 Magazine. [Inaudible.] Brand Manager for Nautica. UBS Private Wealth Management.

We have alumni that are just as excited about our programs here at HPU as the current students and even the prospective students. So when our alumni leave and go off and end up in their careers, they are always staying in communication with us as faculty. They were telling us, "I see what's going on at HPU. I'm seeing how the program is growing. How can I be involved?"

Career development is really ingrained within the culture of this university, within the classes, within the faculty that are there to provide mentoring moments for our students... So they are prepared once they leave us to navigate that professional landscape to succeed within their careers.
